Position Description

Poyen School District is seeking a motivated and dedicated Science Teacher to serve students in grades 7–12. The successful candidate will provide engaging, standards-based instruction that supports student learning and achievement in a secondary science classroom.

Experience with EAST (Education Accelerated by Service and Technology) is preferred but not required. This position is ideal for educators who are collaborative, student-centered, and committed to fostering curiosity and critical thinking in science.

Qualifications

Job Title: Administrative Assistant/Assistant Bookkeeper

Location: Superintendent's Office
Reports to: Superintendent or Designated Administrator
Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: $25,440 to $29,440 DOE

Position Overview:

We are looking for a positive, friendly, and motivated Admin Assistant/Assistant Bookkeeper to join our team! This person will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the district office. The ideal candidate is dependable, eager to learn, and enjoys working with a variety of personalities in a school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide general administrative support including answering phones, greeting visitors, and managing communications

Assist with entry-level bookkeeping tasks (purchase orders, invoices, deposits, etc.)

Use Excel, Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive), email, and other digital tools effectively

Maintain organized files and records (both digital and physical)

Support district staff with scheduling, correspondence, and clerical tasks

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Friendly, positive attitude with excellent people skills

Strong communication and organizational abilities

Entry-level bookkeeping experience required

School or education-related experience a plus

Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing needs

Tech savvy—comfortable with Excel, Google Workspace, and email

Preferred Traits:

Team player who works well with others

Able to multitask and stay calm under pressure

Detail-oriented and self-motivated

 

Poyen SD is a 4 day school, Tuesday--Friday, 7am-4:30pm

*There is an option to start approx. June 2nd to train with the retiring employee.

MUST have bookkeeping experience.

About the Position

Poyen School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to serve students in grades K–12. The School Nurse plays a vital role in promoting student health, safety, and wellness to ensure students are ready to learn each day. In our small, close-knit district, the RN is an essential partner in attendance, chronic health management, special education support, emergency preparedness, and health education.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with students, families, school staff, community healthcare providers, and public health agencies to reduce barriers to learning and support overall student success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care and health services to students during the school day

  • Administer medications and manage student health plans

  • Support students with chronic health conditions and special medical needs

  • Assist with attendance concerns related to health

  • Respond calmly and effectively to medical emergencies

  • Maintain confidentiality and accurate health records

  • Collaborate with families, staff, and community partners

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Arkansas

  • Knowledge of school health practices, medication administration, and emergency response

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with professionalism

  • Associate degree preferred

  • Citizenship, residency, or valid work visa required

District Information

  • Poyen School District is an “A” rated district

  • 4-day school week: Tuesday–Friday

  • Work hours: 7:15 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

  • 143 student days plus 5 additional contract days

  • No summer or Monday work

Substitute Bus Driver

Job Requirments:

  • CDL with passenger endorsement but we will train
  • High School Diploma/GED 
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
  • Driver's License: You must possess a valid Arkansas driver's license.
  • Age: The minimum age requirement to become a school bus driver in Arkansas is 21 years old.
  • Driving Record: A clean driving record is essential, with no major traffic violations or DUI convictions.
  • Background Check: You must pass a background check, including a criminal history check and drug screening.
  • Training and Certification: Completion of a certified school bus driver training program is mandatory. This program covers topics such as student management, defensive driving, emergency procedures, and state laws and regulations.
